We are happy to announce that an open research seminar organized by the AHR-based research projects Object Matters: Archaeology and Heritage in the 21st Century and Unruly Heritage: An Archaeology of the Anthropocene will take place on on Thursday September 20th. The program starts at 9.00 in lecture room UB244 of the Culture and Social Sciences Library at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø campus. The portion of the seminar is open to all interested.

Participants will cover a broad range of topics relating to heritage, materiality, museum collections and archaeologies of the recent past. Keynote lectures will be given by Professor Timothy LeCain, historian of the environment and technology from Montana State University, and Dr. Denis Byrne, scholar of cultural heritage studies from Western Sydney University.

A second day of presentations and an afternoon of dicussion will take place on Saturday September 22nd in Kilpisjärvi, Finland, in a session open to group members only.
